I wish you would all stop flaming each other. I don't like annoying fanboys very much either

No, I'm pretty sure monks and necros don't have skills to steal other skills. If what you're saying is true, someone is cheating.

I'm trying to give you the benefit of the doubt here - if you're running into this problem somewhat frequently, could you try to screencap it next time you see someone doing it? Spells like fire storm have a long cast time so if you can spot someone doing it you might be able to switch over to target them (thus seeing the icon for what they're casting) before it ends.

I'm going to give Thunderhead another go tonight to see if the group has the problem you're describing of the uber-fast deaths (excluding any deaths due to a lack of infused armor).

Give us some proof, and we'll agree. But for now, I think you're thoroughly confused about who's casting what.

Ross, you need tor ead the entire thread, not two sentences, before you post. It'll help keep you from looking stupid. You see if you had read the thread, you'd realize that I have been on TS with a party of eight players, and tried three times to do the mission, using different tactics each time. I have also used henchies and pubbers to do so. Fails every time. There are plenty of others up there that are having the same problem. We've tried suggested tactics, our own, and even made stuff up on the fly. I was in one party with three monks, and all three monks couldn't keep this one guy alive with all their focus on him and trying to keep him alive as he and I fought the bastard. Something is WRONG. Just because you have not experienced it doesn't mean it isn't a problem.
Still, others do make it past. Perhaps you don't appreciate the mesmer, ranger, and necro enough? They should have an easy time passing the boss, with basic preparation (interrupts). If you use pretty much any Thunderhead Keep advice posted on here, you'll do fine. If you're that bummed out I'll come along and see the problem.

Good example is one that ANet is actually looking into finally. It happened to me twice, once in a party with my guild that affected all of us. All adrenaline-based skills stayed grayed-out, like we weren't building adrenaline, but we could use those skills back to back, like we always had max adren! I tell you, doing final thrust every single attack is DEVASTATING. Don't know what caused it, but apparently enough people reported it or complained about it that they claim they're looking into it. Or so said the email I got a few days ago, even though I submitted the problem two weeks ago.
That really has nothing to do with Thunderhead Keep. The adrenaline bug is being looked into. Thunderhead Keep just has a boss that requires different tactics.

Ellis, I'm on too right now. I wouldn't mind doing Thunderhead again.

It sounds like you were just not being careful. The scarabs in the jungle (or anywhere for that matter) are not very dangerous and the only way to have 20 of them pop up is to keep running instead of fighting as soon as you see them. You shouldn't be able to solo any mission anyways. This is a team game.
moss scarabs are a joke, i can solo about 30 in 5 seconds

I also do as few of the missions as possible now because I'm tired of the same old thing over and over.
Are you playing round the clock? What do you expect? For around $50 it should take at least a week of playing time to get that far (pre-searing included, this would be about 1/3 of the way through the game I guess). Do you want to finish the game with each new character in under 3 days? That would be incredibly dull, and the game certainly would not be worth the money then.

Are you tired of doing the missions? The cooperative missions are an integral part of the game. It is of course the story line (like it or not) but it is also the main way of getting your character from A to B in the game. If you don't want to do the missions anymore, then you have played this game too much and should stop, go to your local store, and buy a new game.

You also say that henchies are worthless and that human players suck; apparently you therefore rather play this game solo. Well, the game was not designed to be played solo. So find another game to play. Many posters (my experience as well) have pointed out that henchies are fine, just use them correctly. With patience. As for human players, well, yes there are a lot of idiots out there playing this game. But there are also a lot of fine players as well.

The problem you have, as I see it, is that with your attitude, you simply are not going to attract the good players. Remember, Baratus, the good players ALSO want to play with good players.

Yes it is frustrating to fail a mission after 20 or 30 tries! I have not gotten to Thunderkeep yet, but I experienced this with Thirsty River. But now I can do Thirsty River with a team of only henchmen! Not because my character is any stronger (ok, it is a little bit stronger now) but because I now know how to do this mission (where to attack and when, and what NOT to do) and I know better which 8 skills I need and how best to use them. But that is the name of the game. Anything less would make this less challenging.

I see Baratus is still not backing up a single thing he says with a simple screenshot. His posts just keep getting more rediculous. Oh, but I forgot. All of his problems are everyone elses fault. He is all knowing and all perfect. The vast majority of people who would disagree with him must all be wrong.

Since Baratus doesn't offer a screenshot, I will:

A W/Me, a R/N, a R/Mo, a R/E, a Me/Mo, a W/Mo, a Mo/W, and Mo/E. Rangers weren't getting any love from others so I recruited 3 (!) of them. According to one player there, "rangers and mesmers are the weakest classes in pve". I picked up a Mesmer too. Monks took forever.

The Mo/E was the only one who had Fire Storm, and he almost forgot he had it in the first place. Rangers had traps and interrupts. The Mesmer and the W/Me (me) had Backfire, and I had Blackout. The other Warrior and the Monks fought and healed (not too much to say about that).

We coordinated and talked over several tactics for the endgame. We ended up with this: Rangers and Monks were firing catapults, with great success too. I figure maybe half the mobs were dead or severely weakened when they made it through. Rangers also laid down traps. The Warriors and the Mesmer stayed in the middle and responded to threats. Occasionally most (not all!) players shifted to the west side for a boss threat.

The Monk boss, who lost all his posse to the catapults, died to focused fire, interrupts and Blackout. The Mesmer boss, after we managed to eliminate the other enemies and pull him inside the fort, fell also with pretty much the same tactics. And the rest was history.

We didn't have massive AoE spells, ubertanks - I'm a W/Me! - or any special stuff. I took who was available, and we did it. My sincerest thanks to whoever did come along. I'm going to do Thunderhead Keep again (not tonight), just to show it can be done consistently well.

Back to Baratus: Show us your team which is having so many problems, and we'll fix those problems. I have yet to see evidence of anything you say, except for people being stuck at Thunderhead and the adrenaline bug. Screenshots, other players, anything other than just talk.

Was the Thunderhead Keep mission shortened? I mean, I think I remember it was a lot longer a few months ago.

Ack! Sorry, if I'd have seen this I'd have given you a whisper in-game.

Anyway, I went back to Thunderhead and ended up being in two groups. The first go a warrior aggroed three mobs and we all died before reaching the fort. I asked everyone in that group if they'd run into the problem Baratus described since they'd each had multiple failures at Thunderhead and were all stuck there. They all said no. In the second group, we beat Thunderhead. The only deaths I can remember were during the fight with Confessor Dorian - a couple of us died, were rezzed, then beat Dorian and his mob. The tank got a bit slap happy at the end and just went charging into the final mob outside the fort. There were no insanely quick deaths though - just the normal deaths from taking on a mob a bit too big to wipe out easily. I didn't ask again in the second group but no one acted shocked that we didn't drop like flies.

I wasn't really at my best either - I got scolded for (I think - the comment was really vague) playing a bit too offensively (vs. defensively) for a moment. I went after a spellcaster we hadn't started attacking yet to cast Backfire since he was already casting spells on our tank. All that came of it was a comment of "I h8 mesmers!" from someone I'd dearly like to smack, but I've certainly played better than I did tonight. And the mission was a lot of fun, even with the Mesmer mocking.

Please Baratus, follow Savio's suggestion and show us something and give us details on why you're failing. Apparently this isn't a problem that happens occasionally to you - you're saying it happens every time you play this mission. I didn't see it, Savio didn't see it, and neither of the groups I played with saw it either and they'd all been stuck at Thunderhead the same as you were/are. You say you're wearing the same armor you wore when you went to get infused (and so it should say "infused" on each piece) and that you're playing with fully infused teams - the only times I've seen people die as quickly as you've described is when some or all of their armor was not infused. If that isn't happening, please show us what is because it isn't happening to everyone.

this thread has degenerated too much.
Baratus, if you need help with a specific mission, ask in the Tyrian Explorer's League. If you need help perfecting your build, try the Campfire. If you would like more advice concerning strategy, try Gladiator's Arena.

This forum is not for ranting and raving.
